Purple Paro Valley is derived from a sativa that originally grows in the Paro Valley in Western Bhutan at an altitude of 2,500 meters. The feminized hybrid is very close to the original: only two generations separate it from its progenitors. The variety has adapted to the harsh Himalayan climate with dry periods, monsoon rains and cold winters.
Purple Paro Valley is recommended to be grown in northern climates with higher humidity. Global warming has made the task much easier and has pushed the geography of the variety.
Thanks to its exceptional genetics, the strain handles low temperatures better than most modern cannabis varieties. At first glance, the branches of the plants appear fragile and thin. The original plants in the Paro Valley can withstand high winds and heavy rains, and the hybrid has inherited this property.
It is not recommended to grow the plants in an area with strong gale force winds. Plants grow well in almost any soil, but require fertilizer for good yields. Hybridization has increased the yield of the variety.
The Purple Paro Valley plantation will delight you with a high yield. The hybrid is particularly well suited for growing in harsh climates.
Purple Paro Valley is probably the only reliable choice for growing in areas with exceptionally bad weather conditions. Even if you have failed with other varieties, you have hope for success!
For indoor growing, the plants don't require much attention.
The plants' maternal genetics have been preserved in the current feminized seeds. The genetics of the variety can play an important role in your yield.
The variety has two different phenotypes: green and purple phenotypes. The purple phenotype is about 75%. It is very fascinating to watch the color change of the leaves during flowering. The green phenotype has medium height, short flowering period, and compact buds. Purple plants are quite tall, and this must be considered when growing indoors.
Later cultivation and pruning is recommended. In Mediterranean or hot climates, plants can reach heights of up to 2 meters if planted in June. If you want plants of medium height, choose a planting time that allows only one month of vegetative growth. Purple Paro Valley responds well to artificial light. Pruning the lower shoots further simplifies plant care and increases the strength of the upper branches.
During flowering, most plants emit a delicious fragrance. This is an original combination of citrus and lime. Some hybrids have a candy-like fragrance, and the plants smell like sweet candy!
When dried, the buds have a sweet, minty odor. The green phenotype can also smell like lavender because it has the terpene linalool, which enhances calming effects, improves sleep, and has pain relieving effects.
The purple variety smells like black tea, and the smoke leaves a fresh, minty flavor when exhaled. Hash oil has the sweet flavor of Himalayan cedar. The high THC (27.5%) provides a relaxing effect. It is suitable for relaxation, used as a sleeping pill, relieves stress and nervousness.
